Oriental Lily (Lilium orientale) produces the most spectacular and fragrant of all lilies — huge, bowl-shaped blooms in pink, white, and red with intense, heady perfume. A premium bulb for discerning Indian gardeners seeking luxury-garden results.
- Largest and most fragrant lily — the pinnacle of lily growing
- Huge bowl-shaped blooms up to 25 cm across
- Intensely heady, sweet perfume — fragrance fills the garden
- Late-summer to autumn blooming — extends the garden season
- Outstanding cut flower — the jewel of any arrangement
Plant bulbs 6-8 inches deep in very well-draining, slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5-6.5). Full sun with cool roots — mulch heavily. Space 12 inches apart. Plant October-December for summer blooms.
Critical: excellent drainage — bulbs rot easily in wet soil. Water regularly but never let roots sit in water. Feed with high-phosphorus fertilizer when buds form. Stake tall stems. Cool root zone is essential.
Blooms late summer to autumn (August-October). Massive fragrant blooms 3-4 weeks on the plant. Each stem produces 3-6 huge flowers. The crown jewel of summer gardens and floral arrangements.
