Ixia (Ixia spp.) also called African Corn Lily, produces delicate star-shaped flowers in jewel-bright shades of pink, white, purple, and red with dark centres. These slender, graceful blooms are stunning in garden beds and arrangements.

Plant corms 3-4 inches deep in sandy, well-draining soil. Full sun essential. Space 3-4 inches apart. Plant in autumn-winter (October-January) for spring blooms. Excellent drainage is critical.
Very drought tolerant — minimal watering needed. Water lightly during growing season only. No heavy fertilizing. Allow foliage to die back naturally. Lift corms in very wet climates.
Blooms spring (March-May). Masses of colourful star flowers on slender stems. Corms multiply freely. Outstanding cut flowers — long vase life. One of the best value flowering bulbs.
