Hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis) produces dense, upright spikes of intensely fragrant, waxy flowers in blue, purple, pink, white, and red. One of the most powerfully fragrant bulbs in the world — a single bloom can fill a room with perfume.

Plant bulbs 4-6 inches deep, pointed end up. Well-draining soil essential. Requires cool temperatures (below 10°C at night) for best results. Best planted October-December. Space 4-6 inches apart.
Water regularly but ensure excellent drainage. Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Chill bulbs in refrigerator for 6-8 weeks before planting in warmer Indian climates. Store dry in summer.
Blooms in winter (December-February) in cooler Indian climates. 12-16 weeks from planting. Dense 15-30 cm spikes of 20-40 fragrant bells. Spectacular potted specimen and cut flower.
