Plant rhizomes 1-2 inches deep in well-draining, organically rich soil. Full sun to partial shade. Space 12 inches apart. Best planted in spring (February-April). Water well after planting.
Water regularly during growing season. Reduce watering in winter dormancy. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring. Divide clumps every 3 years to maintain vigorous flowering. Avoid overwatering.
Blooms June to August. Large globular flower heads with 20-100 individual flowers each. Plants may take 2-3 years to reach peak flowering. Worth the wait for spectacular results.
