Agapanthus Blue
Agapanthus Blue
Agapanthus Blue (Agapanthus africanus) stuns with its deep violet-blue trumpet flowers clustered in large, ball-shaped heads atop tall, arching stems. One of the most dramatic blue-flowering bulbs available for Indian gardens.
- Rare deep blue-violet blooms — a true garden showstopper
- Tall stems 60-90 cm — ideal for back-of-border planting
- Long blooming season from June to August
- Attracts butterflies and pollinators
- Drought-hardy once established — very low maintenance
Plant 1-2 inches deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Prefers full sun for best bloom colour. Space 12 inches apart. Plant in spring (February-April) for summer flowers.
Water regularly spring through fall. Reduce in winter. Apply slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Protect from severe frost. Divide every 3 years. Tolerates coastal conditions well.
Spectacular blue blooms from June to August. Each stem carries 20-100 florets. Plants established for 2+ years produce the most dramatic displays.
